Sea World Management has offered Technical Management services since 1990, and in October 2017 formed branch Sea World Shipping as a joint venture with a Team of former Top Managers coming from a major ship management company. Whilst the Sea World Management team focus on the present managed fleet of 10 x IMO Product/Chemical Tankers, Sea World Shipping is mainly focusing on new Clients within the Bulker, Ro-Ro, Offshore/cable-seismic business segment, however also have past experience providing Technical Management services within the general Tanker segment.
Since 1990, the Technical Management team has successfully managed and operated over 240 vessels, arranged and supervised over 80 dry dockings, and previously converted 5 single-hull handy tankers to double-hull and received CAP 1 ratings.
The Technical Management team operates all managed vessels in the safest and most efficient manner possible in order to meet the requirements of ship-owners, flag states, port states, class societies, charterers and other stakeholders in full compliance with the International Safety Management Code and International regulations.
One of our main beliefs is a close interaction and effective communication between onboard personnel and shore-based technical & marine sections, keeping a vessel in service near 100% utilization and maintaining OPEX expenses within budget. Crew retention is high, composed mainly of experienced seafarers from India, but also include Italians, Filipinos, and Ukrainians.
Maintenance of the vessel to the agreed standard including repairs and dry dockings, keeping of records and ensuring that the vessel is well documented with all certificates, manuals, etc., as required for the agreed trades.
Allocation of superintendent to the vessel, with the necessary back-up, who will be responsible for the Technical/Marine management of same and will visit the vessel at regular intervals, for Marine Survey, Condition assessment, ISM/ISPS/MLC/ISO/OSHAS, Navigation audits, pre-Vetting inspection or whenever required.
Provision of competent officers and crew, certified as required and also with qualifications as considered necessary for the vessel and the trade; arranging their joining and repatriation as well as all related functions, as required.
Provision of running OPEX budgets for the vessel and full running cost accounts including budget comparisons with comments, balance sheet and profit and loss statement.
Procurement and supply of spares, lubricating oils, provisions, stores, consumables and other required stores.
Provision of insurance for the vessel as agreed, but with a minimum of H&M. War and P&I insurance and also handling and settling of claims.
Handling of all Operational matters, such as post fixtures, voyage instructions, monitoring vessel´s performance, filing out of questionnaires, and in the case of tankers, fulfilling the vetting requirements of the Oil Majors.
Follow up of Class and Flag state matters, handling of charter party disputes, FDD and cargo claims, bunkering, appointment of agents, freights and hire
Appraisal of project for conversion, equipment and new building specifications.
Negotiations on building specification and Makers lists.
Supervision during construction at the shipyard or at sub-contractors premises.
Attendance and evaluation of shop tests, dock and sea trials.
Luca Corvetta - Co-founder: (younger brother to Roberto Corvetta).
He jointly established Sea World Management in 1990 and he is currently the Managering Director of Technical Department of Sea World Management. Prior co-founding Sea World Management, Luca worked from 1988 at the “Cantieri di Ravenna shipyard”. Luca has a vast experience in Technical Management of Tankers, with a special focus on IMO Product/Chemical Tankers tankers at plus 8 years of age
Chief Engineer Pasquale Meschino -Technical Director of Sea World Management and Sea World Shipping.
Former Fleet Manager of V.Ships Monaco, where he was responsible and overseeing the Tanker, Bulker and Offshore fleets, not limited to the technical aspect but wider on crewing, Classification societies and interacting with all main makers and drydocks. He has an extensive experience in ship management including troubleshooting, dry-docking, new building and ship conversion. Started his shore career in 2006 with Tekne’ in Monaco (private Owner), lately joined V.Ships from 2013 to 2017. He spent 17 years at sea of which latter 8 years as Chief Engineer.
Captain Giuseppe Bertolino - ISM Designated Person Ashore, as well Operations Manager at Sea World Management.
He joined Sea World Management in 1994 and prior to joining, worked his way from cadet to Chief mate in 1978-1988, Chief mate/Captain with Anglo Nordic and SWM 1989-1993.
Guglielmo Ruggeri – Marine and Compliance Department
Prior to joining SWM in February 2019, he was V. Group South Europe Compliance & Marine Director, Head of Marine Department of V. Ships Monaco, following the management for a variety type of vessels including and not limited to tankers, dry bulk and Off-Shore vessels. With +20 years of experience in ship management, his background is based on 12 years at sea on tankers.
